In 2018, Britney Pennycook joined the team at Phillips Law Offices as an attorney. She practices personal injury law in all areas including wrongful death, product liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, and car accidents.
Before joining Phillips Law Offices, Britney served for a year and a half as a law clerk at another prominent Plaintiff’s injury firm in Chicago.
Britney earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 2015. In 2018, she graduated Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was a merit scholarship recipient and on the Dean’s List. Britney was a Fellow of the prestigious Corboy Trial Advocacy Fellowship. Through this program, she spent hundreds of hours each month learning advanced trial techniques and receiving training from judges, public defenders, state’s attorneys, and civil trial lawyers.
As a student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Britney worked in Loyola’s Community Law Clinic and earned her 711 license, which allowed her to advocate in court on behalf of clients who could not afford representation otherwise. She represented clients in divorce proceedings, and also served as a court-appointed guardian ad litem by representing the best interests of minor children.
Britney remains very involved with Loyola University Chicago School of Law, serving as a coach of Loyola’s Criminal Mock Trial Team.
Britney is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association and American Association for Justice. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
