A jury returned a verdict of $460,904 in favor of a 55 year old woman whose feet were run over by a turning taxi cab, causing non-displaced fractures and crush injuries to both feet. A 55 year old pedestrian was walking eastbound on Illinois Ave. to a grocery store.  While crossing Park Street, a taxi turning right rolled over her feet and knocked her to the ground.  When she was treated at the emergency department, she was found to have non-displaced fractures of one of her feet.  A month later, it was found that she had non-displaced fractures of her other foot as well.  She was seen by orthopedists, podiatrists and pain medicine physicians, later found to have developed Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).  The case was tried before Judge Maureen Durkin Roy in the Circuit Court of Cook County as 06L008041. Judgment was entered against the cab driver and the cab company.  The plaintiff was represented by Charles Hornewer  a partner at Phillips Law Offices.
