Nearly 1 million cribs have been recalled due to the drop rail on some cribs can detach from the frame creating a gap that children can become stuck in.  This gap has lead to the deaths of atleast three children.  The recall has been put in place because of design flaws.  The rail which moves up and down can be installed upside, which causes the rail to detach from the frame.  The cribs were sold under the names of Simplicity and Graco.  The cribs which are included in the recall were sold between January 1998 to May 2007.

The models covered in this recall are Simplicity Aspen 3 in 1, Aspen 4 in 1, Nursery-in-a-Box, Crib N Changer Combo, Chelsea and Pooh 4 in 1.  Simplicity cribs using the Graco name are: Aspen 3 in 1, Ultra 3 in 1, Ultra 4 in 1, Ultra 5 in 1, Whitney and Trio.  The model numbers are 4600, 4605, 4705, 5000, 8000, 8324, 8800, 8740, 8910, 8994, 8050, 8750, 8760, and 8996.
